At the Alliance, one of our core organizational values is Hineni, which we interpret as standing with others, so no one stands alone. Just as the Jewish community relies on others to stand with us during times of heightened antisemitism, its equally as important that we stand with other communities in their time of need.

At the Alliance—and throughout our community—we don’t just stand with the LGBTQ+ community because of our value of Hineni, we stand with them because we know that our differences are our greatest strength. After all, we are B’Tzelem Elohim, we are all created in the image of God. The inclusiveness of Rhode Island’s Jewish community is what makes it truly special, and I’m grateful to every community member who continues to make this vibrant, thriving community open to anyone who wants to be part of it.

Until next time, I wish you a safe, peaceful, and inclusive Shabbat.

Shabbat Shalom,
