I hope you've had a great week! At the Alliance’s Annual Meeting on June 18, I spoke about the importance of our community continuing to move forward. In difficult times, our instinct as a people has always been to persevere—whether it was 40 years in the desert, escaping pogroms and inquisitions, or facing the challenges of today, we keep moving forward.
That resilience is even more critical now. I am grateful that the ceasefire between Israel and Iran appears to be holding, and that huddling in shelters is no longer part of daily life for those in Israel. Yet I remain deeply concerned about the antisemitic acts we’ve seen here in the United States—in Washington, D.C., Boulder, and beyond. These attacks add to our collective unease. And still, we move forward.
At the Alliance, we dedicate ourselves every day to helping our community do just that. We prioritize safety and fight antisemitism, offering trainings that have engaged nearly 300 participants this year alone. We ensure our agency partners have the resources they need to serve our community today and in the years ahead. We continue to make the Bonnie and Donald Dwares JCC a welcoming, central hub for Jewish life, while expanding programs and services beyond Providence to meet the needs of our broader community.
None of this work is possible without you. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our fundraising efforts this year—we’ve raised over $3.3 million, which is truly remarkable. But we still need to raise an additional $100,000 by June 30, and we need your help.
If you haven’t yet made a gift to the Alliance, please consider doing so by Monday. You can click here to donate. And if you’ve already given and are able to do a little more, please consider making an additional gift to help ensure this important work continues next year—so that together, we can keep moving forward.
Our community is vibrant and resilient, even in difficult times, because of you. Because you care. Because you give. Because you help us keep moving forward.
Until next time, I wish you a safe, peaceful, and joyous Shabbat.
Shabbat Shalom,
Adam Greenman
