I hope you’ve had a good week. It has been nearly a month since Hamas’ barbaric terror attack in Israel shook so many of us and left us reeling as a community. Since then, the Alliance has been working feverishly to ensure our community is safe and that we can help our brothers and sisters in Israel.

The question I’ve heard most often over the last few weeks is, “How can I help?” I think everyone is looking for a way to support Israelis in their time of need. Here are a few ways you can help today:

  • First, you can make a donation to our Israel Emergency Fund. Our hope is to raise $1,000,000 and with your help, I know we can get there. One hundred percent of your donation will go to Israelis in need and because of a generous match from Bonnie and Donald Dwares, donations are being matched dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000.
  • You can also help by thanking our elected officials who have been so steadfast in their support of the Jewish community and of Israel.

Consider contacting them and thanking them for all they are doing.

  • Finally, you can engage with us as a Jewish community. It was so wonderful to see so many people come together earlier this week for the vigil in solidarity with the Israeli hostages. And tomorrow night, we’ll be coming together for the Evening of Jewish Renaissance, a night of learning and community. In these hard times, we must always remember that joy comes from community. I hope you will join us.

In these moments, I’m so grateful for all of you, the ways you step up in crisis and always. Thank you for all you do.

Until next time, I wish you a safe, peaceful, and joyous Shabbat.

Shabbat Shalom,
