In previous messages I mentioned that I would follow up with you about the work the Alliance is doing to combat the rise of antisemitism across our community. I'm pleased to share with you that we have been leading the planning effort on a summit to address hatred in our community. And on May 16, we’ll be hosting Call to Action: A State-Wide Summit on Addressing Hate at Rhode Island College. The program will feature keynotes from several high-profile victims of hate crimes, as well as panel discussions on the local context. The summit will ask participants from the fields of law enforcement, education, the business world, and government to help us develop an action plan to address hate. I look forward to sharing their work with you in future messages.

And on a more joyful note, I’d like to invite you to join us at Farm Fresh Rhode Island on Sunday, May 21 for a celebration and commemoration of Israel’s 75th anniversary. The event will take place from 12:00 - 4:00pm, and will feature live music, dancing, and entertainment, as well as a variety of food options. We’ll have local crafts, art, and jewelry vendors and there will be plenty of activities for kids, including a bounce house, face painting and more. Click here for more information. We hope to see you there!

Until next time, I wish you a safe, peaceful, and joyous Shabbat.

Shabbat Shalom,
Adam Greenman
President & CEO

PS: Save the date! Our "Israel at 75" celebrations continue. Join us on Sunday, June 4, for a bus trip to New York City to participate in the Celebrate Israel Parade. Space is limited, so be sure to save your seat early!
