More than two years after October 7, 2023, the remaining living hostages are finally home. Through 18 major Jewish holidays and 105 Shabbat dinners, Jewish families in Israel and around the world have lived with empty chairs at our tables, yellow ribbons on our lapels, and deep fractures in our hearts.

Today we rejoice as the 20 surviving hostages come home to their loved ones and finally fill the empty chairs at our tables and begin mending our broken hearts. We celebrate this long-awaited moment of relief and joy, standing in unwavering solidarity with the families and with the people of Israel.

We hold the hostages, and their families close in our hearts as they begin to process, to grieve, and to heal. And we remain steadfast in our commitment to a future rooted in safety, dignity, and peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Today is a day of hope, and we pray it is the beginning of healing for the hostages, for their families, and for all of Israel. Let this moment mark the beginning of comfort and renewal for the people of Israel and Jewish communities everywhere. May their return bring strength, and may their stories remind the world of the resilience, unity, and enduring hope of the Jewish people.

We welcome the long-awaited return of:
