Welcome to Summer J-Camp 2021! Our team has been gearing up to create another amazing summer experience for your child. As you may know, Summer J-Camp provides a diverse and welcoming environment for all of our campers. Located on the East Side of Providence, the Dwares JCC offers your child many indoor and outdoor spaces for learning and fun throughout the day. In addition to traditional camp activities, J-Camp interweaves a strong focus on Judaic themes and universal human values to provide your child with opportunities for personal growth and a better understanding of the world around them.
Upper Camp (Camp Haverim) for grades 1 – 6: This summer, J-Campers can look forward to a variety of COVID-safe activities such as sports instruction and drills, soccer slam, tennis, gymnastics, yoga, and more. Campers will also try their hand at a variety of arts activities including jewelry making, mosaics, clay, wood burning, and plenty more options to hone their creative skills! Additional activities include S.T.E.A.M, Israeli culture, nature, and more. If allowed by the state, we look forward to expanding this year’s options to include the return of swimming and cooking!

And we are excited to introduce new programming to our much-loved Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program (for grades 7 – 10)! Throughout the summer, CITs will grow leadership skills, discover how to be an environmental steward, and learn how to make a positive impact on children. We are also bringing in some exciting new activities exclusive to our CITs, including archery, robotics, and self-defense!

Lower Camp (Camp Yeladim) for ages 4 & 5: Located in the David C. Isenberg Family Early Childhood Center, Camp Yeladim is a big kid experience in a little kid environment! Campers spend as much time as possible outside in the sunshine playing sports, climbing on the playground, and splashing in our little pools. Indoors, campers exercise their bodies with daily activities such as yoga and CATCH, and their minds with art, cooking, nature and stories. We will end each week with a Shabbat celebration, including challah. COVID procedures will continue to be enforced to ensure the safest environment possible.
