Virtual Book Club: “The Lost Girls of Paris,” by Pam Jenoff

Wednesday, August 19

Join the Alliance’s Virtual Book Club and gain new perspectives on life and literature–without having to leave home! Our next book will be The Lost Girls of Paris, by Pam Jenoff.

About the book: While passing through Grand Central Terminal one morning, Grace Healey finds an abandoned suitcase tucked beneath a bench. Unable to resist her own curiosity, Grace opens the suitcase to discover a dozen photographs—each of a different woman. In a moment of impulse, Grace takes the photographs and quickly leaves the station.

Grace soon learns that the suitcase belonged to Eleanor Trigg, the leader of a network of female secret agents who were deployed out of London during the war. Twelve of these women, sent to aid the resistance as couriers and radio operators, never returned home – their fates a mystery. As Grace sets out to learn the truth behind the women in the photographs, she finds herself drawn to Marie, a young mother-turned-agent whose daring missions overseas reveal a remarkable story of friendship, valor and betrayal.
