Shabbat Shalom: Will you answer the call?

Dear Friends,

As a community, we are at our strongest when we come together as one. Whether that means standing up against injustice or wrongdoing, working with our partners to tackle an issue of common concern, or coming together to make a lasting impact. When we come together, we exemplify the power of our collective strength.

It is to this point that I invite you to Super Sunday, September 16, from 9am – 1pm. Yes — Super Sunday is our largest fundraising phone-a-thon of the year, but it is so much more than that. If you haven’t participated before, I invite you to join us. The energy that our volunteers bring to the day is contagious. Last year, thanks to volunteers and those who answered the call, we raised more than $88,000 in a single day. While the dollar amount is impressive, even more so is the number of lives we are able to impact–because of you.

We are excited to welcome Aliza and Will Krieger as this year’s Super Sunday chairs. Click here to see a video invitation from the Krieger family.

How can you help?

  • Volunteer to make calls — commit to any timeframe that works for you between 9am – 1pm. We also have opportunities for those who want to help, but don’t want to make phone calls.
  • Answer the call — in just a couple of minutes you can impact lives locally and globally.
  • Make your gift ahead of Super Sunday by clicking here or by texting the word “Alliance” to 74121.

Again this year, we are offering community service hours for teens, and opportunities for younger children to participate too. And to make it easier for parents, babysitting will be available between 9:00 – 11:30am. Lastly, to make the day that much more impactful, voter registration will take place in the lobby.

Friends, there’s no better way to start the new year off right than by dedicating some time for the betterment of others. On behalf of the Krieger family, greater Rhode Island’s Jewish community, and the Alliance board and staff, we thank you for your continued commitment and hope to see you on Super Sunday!

Wishing you a peaceful Shabbat, and a happy healthy, and sweet new year!

Sincerely,
Adam Greenman
President & CEO

P.S. The work we do in the community and around the world wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers and donors. Click here to view the Jewish Alliance 2018 Donor Report.
