Shabbat Shalom: 07.13.18
June 30, 2018 marked the close of the 2018 Alliance Annual Campaign. We are happy to report that the Campaign closed at $3.12 million dollars, an increase of approximately $60,000 over last year. While we often use the metric of ‘dollars raised’ to measure the success of the Campaign, what’s truly impressive is the amount of work that will be achieved because of these dollars.
We are in the process of finalizing a report for the community that lists the agencies, programs, and services that will benefit from the funds you’ve contributed. This content-rich four-page report along with a letter from me will be mailed out to all our donors and made available on the Alliance website in the coming weeks.
As supporters of the Alliance, I hope you’ll read through the report to get a better understanding of where your dollars go and the impact it has on the lives of those who benefit. Whether it’s scholarship assistance for local children to attend day schools, food served to the elderly who may not otherwise get a meal or have social interaction, or supporting an organization dedicated to opposing sexual violence in Afula, Israel. We’re partnering on innovative, impactful, and meaningful programs to reduce poverty, engage the next generation, sustain and build community, and ensure that Jews both locally and abroad are getting the help they need.
Wishing you a peaceful Shabbat.
P.S. For those interested in assisting, we are raising funds to help provide legal aid to families separated at the US/Mexico border. 100% of funds raised by Rhode Island’s Jewish community will be donated to HIAS (Hebrew Immigration Aid Society), a national Jewish agency with more than 130 years of expertise working to protect vulnerable refugees.
