According to a recent Nielsen report, Americans spend nearly half their day interacting with some type of screen — computers, tablets, televisions, smartphones. This includes a rise in screen time among children, which is unavoidable right now due to the pandemic. Parents, however, often place their focus on the total amount of time spent on screens, rather than assessing the quality of the interactions the children are having. Screen time today consists of more than playing games or scrolling through social media sites. It is an essential tool for connection with teachers, classmates, grandparents, etc.
