The Community Relations Council (CRC) is the central public affairs arm of the Greater Rhode Island Jewish community. The CRC advocates for Jewish institutions and values, educates the community about key issues of concern, promotes a fair and just society through Jewish values and ideals, and reaches out – along with our neighbors – to build a better world for all.
Contact the Jewish Alliance at 401.421.4111 to get involved.
The CRC builds bridges between local Jews and other Greater Rhode Island faith and ethnic communities. We believe the security and well-being of the Jewish community is connected to that of all groups in our community.
The CRC maintains a high-profile in national and state coalitions and organizations, reaching out to government officials at the federal, state, and local levels to raise awareness of Alliance priorities and goals. This includes securing funding for programs and developing legislation that CRC supports.
The CRC supports a strong US-Israel relationship and coordinates our community’s response to Middle East and other international issues. We also raise awareness and support for Israel among political leaders, the media, and the community through regular briefings and programs. Of particular concern are issues relating to anti-Semitism both here and abroad.
The CRC works for justice by advocating public policies that promote fairness and equality. We give back to the community through partnerships with other Jewish agencies, organizations, and synagogues. We also engage Jewish individuals and groups in meaningful and effective social action projects throughout Greater Rhode Island: fighting poverty, hunger, and homelessness, as well as improving education.
The CRC seeks dedicated individuals to help repair the world and needs your time, energy and thoughts. For more information, please email Stephanie Hague or call 401.421.4111 ext. 127.
