Join the Jewish Alliance and Newport Classical for a day in Newport!

Amit Peled

The day will include a morning talk and an evening concert by world-renowned Israeli cellist Amit Peled. The talk, Journey with My Jewishness, will include a mini concert of Jewish music. For the evening concert Peled will play a selection of American classical compositions. In between the two events attendees will have the option of breaking for lunch and touring Touro Synagogue, Newport’s national landmark of religious freedom for Jews in America.

Tickets: $55 (includes evening concert)

Participants can choose to attend all or part of the planned events.

11:00am Journey with My Jewishness, a free talk by Israeli cellist, Amit Peled, the star performer of the evening’s concert.
Temple Sholom Synagogue, 223 Valley Road, Middletown

12:00pm Optional lunch at Root on Broadway, a kosher plant-based restaurant (not included in ticket cost).

1:00 pm Optional tours of Touro Synagogue (1:00, 1:45 and 2:30pm). Tickets (to be purchased at the time of the tour) are $14 for adults and free for kids under 13.

4:00 pm The evening will culminate with a classical music concert at the Newport Art Museum. Concert doors open at 3:30pm and the concert begins at 4:00pm.

6:00pm Optional post-concert cocktails and appetizers at Stoneacre Brasserie (no cost for those who attend the concert).
