J-Fitness Video Exercise of the Month

Bicep Curl Using Multi Station

Previously, we showed you how to perform a triceps extension on the same piece of equipment.  Triceps and biceps are opposing muscle groups and it is important to remember to train these muscle groups to maintain muscle balance and to help prevent injury. Opposing (or antagonist) muscles are the muscles that do the opposite of the working muscle.  So when the biceps are flexing or contracting, the triceps (the antagonist) are extending. Not only is it important to train opposing muscle groups but stretching is equally important. Stay tuned to next month when we demonstrate stretching technique.

If you have questions about how to execute these exercises, feel free to ask any of our Certified Personal Trainers.
